6High, an outstanding and highly dependable bomber pilot, is a regular in our European staffel and is well-liked by all. He is very helpful and insightful as well. Here is more about Uli in his own words:
I've been flying sims since 1989 when LucasArts BoB:Their Finest Hour came out, lost track to sims a few years later and rejoined the community with the original IL-2 (and a new computer). I've been hooked since then and always been a WWII enthusiast specially when it comes to planes, so IL-2 was the fulfillment of all my dreams........and still is!
Location: I live in Switzerland near the town of Zurich together with my girlfriend and our little copilot Timo.
Profession: Carpenter/ Loghome Builder, thinking about closing my small company to have more time for FB.... :)
Previous flight sims: As mentioned BoB and CFS3 for a week until it had a meeting with my hammer...
Hobbies:
- Mountains (up`n`down with ropes and boards)
- Music (all sorts, seems to fit in the squad)
- my hammock and a fat "cigar
- WW2 aircraft
- and lots of other things i don`t have time for....
Plane(s) of choice:
- FW190
- Bf110
- He111
- Ju87
- Ju88

6High earns another spot in the JG52 Hall of Fame for showing bravery, loyalty, and a strong sense of duty by rescuing a fellow squad-mate in CAD Report ID# rep_00666. Here is Uther's account of the incident along with some banter with 6High:
Uther: "It was pretty intense, flying Bf110s on a bombing mission... as we got near the target, lots of enemy fighters appeared. We dodged them and proceeded to bomb and strafe our assigned ground targets. On my third run I took a direct flak hit to my right engine and therefore broke off to head for home. The engine was dead so I feathered the propeller but to make things worse it caught fire shortly after. I kept flying for as long as I could but after just half a minute my fuel tank also caught fire and I had to take to the parachute... just in time too as the plane exploded before it even hit the ground. 6High witnessed all of this and made a landing on the road near where I came down. Very soon after he was under fire from the nearby enemy town and barely managed to take off and make it to safety."
6High: "It was really thrilling to wait for you climbing in between me and my gunner while shells exploded around us."
Uther: "Oh, you had a gunner? There was a chap in the back but I asked him to get out and check the tires." (laughs)
6High: "At last, I got rid of 'fat Arnold'! I thought he had gone into hiding when we landed because he was so ashamed of hitting absolutely NOTHING, as usual... So... welcome to your new job, Uther! Good luck!" (grins and pats Uther on the back)
